The TIP-TIG process from ABB Robotics provides several key advantages over traditional TIG (GTAW) welding, including better coping with joint fit-up gaps, higher travel speeds and lower heat input requirements. • Fully integrated with a robotic solution for the first time, the lab is producing test components to demonstrate quality, speed and performance. This revolutionary new process received the award for the “most innovative welding process” at the world trade fair, SCHWEISSEN SCHNEIDEN in Essen, Germany. • The lab is outfitted with Fronius CMT 4000 weld equipment, providing the ability to perform Standard MIG weld , Pulsed MIG weld, and Cold Metal Transfer processes on various metals, such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. • The TIP-TIG process is installed in the cell combining the slim design IRB 2600ID robot and the highly flexible IRBP250A workpiece positioner. The IRB 2600ID is designed for welding, with the process equipment fully integrating in the upper arm, providing 15 percent shorter cycle times, lower operational costs and easier programming. • Subscribe to our magazine and e-newsletters: http://bit.ly/SubscribeFabMetalMag
