Who knew such messy hands could create such adorable art. Grab some markers and let’s make some fingerprint art! • SUPPLIES: • Markers • Paper • Pen • Fingers • Other options: Don’t have markers? Use paint or an ink pad instead! • STEP 1: • Use your markers to color your fingers. If markers aren’t available to you, paint or an ink pad will also work. • STEP 2: • Press your fingerprints onto your paper. You can use a single fingerprint or multiple to create all sorts of creatures. For multi-print critters, simply place multiple fingerprints side-by-side or overlap them. • Using different fingers can also help you make different sized or shaped creatures or body parts. For example, if you’re trying to make a dog and her puppies, using your thumb for the mother and your pinky for the puppies will help show that the puppies are smaller. • Another technique to experiment with is making multiple fingerprints, one after the other, without applying a fresh coat of marker in-between. As you continue to add more fingerprints, they will become more faded. • STEP 3: • Use a pen or marker to add line-work on or around your fingerprints. These lines can help you create all sorts of wildlife, people, funny facial expressions, accessories, and more.
