National CBRN exercises and the use of NATO’s CBRN Battalions have featured in • the MTEP for some considerable time. Events in Iraq Syria and the United Kingdom • have re-energised NATO’s communication approach to this important capability. • Exercise CORONAT MASK 2018 is a DEU led capability exercise with participation • by some 14 Alliance members and will provide training testing in four key locations - • CZE DEU ITA and SLO culminating in the main DV day 26 Sep 18 in Bruchsal. • The aim is to train and test four multi-national CBRN Defence Task Forces against • scenarios through non-state actor events. __ • Allied Command Operations (ACO), NATO's headquarters for all military plans and operations, is the successor to two historic strategic commands for NATO – Allied Command Europe and Allied Command Atlantic. • ACO is one of The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation's (NATO) two strategic military commands. The other command being Allied Command Transformation ACT in Norfolk, Virginia. • ACO is commanded by the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) and is responsible for all Alliance military operations. The command headquarters, known as Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, or SHAPE, is located in Casteau near Mons, Belgium.
