What are Remote Hydraulics on a Tractor

If contemplating purchasing a tractor, an option you may need is remote hydraulics. This video explains what tractor remotes are, what they do, and why you might need them. • Remotes are ports on the back of the tractor to provide hydraulic flow to cylinders on tractor attachments. Lets say you have a folding hay rake like the one in the video. It uses a hydraulic cylinder to fold the sides up and also to raise and lower the rake teeth. So, it has the need to power two hydraulic systems. • In order for this rake to work right, you'd need two sets of remotes. The confusing thing, if you're new to tractors, two ports, is one remote. You have one flow for oil to go out and one for it to come back in. • Remotes can be added to most new tractors and come as a dealer-installed kit on smaller tractors. Once the tractor is no longer a current model, though, most manufacturers no longer offer the kit, so to add a remote you'd have to order each individual part, which could be expensive. The bottom line is, if you think you'll need remotes, buy them when you get the tractor. • SUPPORT THE TRACTOR MIKE CHANNEL: / tractormike • Visit the Tractor Mike website: http://asktractormike.com/ • Subscribe to YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/tractormi... • Visit Facebook Page: / ask-tractor-mike-312112962245304
