Have you ever needed to use the Niagara framework in critical applications where having more robust hardware is important, while also keeping the size of your cabinet at a minimum? In this video, Jordyn Dahlke discusses the ILC 2050 BI, Phoenix Contact’s Niagara-based controller, and how it fills all the extra requirements for an optimized Niagara framework. • To learn more, visit www.phoenixcontact.com/niagara. • Transcript: • Have you ever needed to use a Niagara framework in critical applications where having more robust hardware is important? Have you ever needed to keep the size of your cabinet at a minimum? Have you ever wanted a lifetime warranty on your controller? Do you find yourself asking a lot of questions? Wanting a lot of things? • Hi, I'm Jordan Dahlke from Phoenix Contact. Today, I'm going to be talking about the ILC 2050 BI, our Niagara-based controller that can answer your questions and fulfill all the things you want and need in a Niagara controller. We develop and manufacture industrial electronic technology. Industrial hardware is our focus as a company, and you'll see this emphasis reflected in the advanced design of the ILC 2050 BI. This controller is based on the Niagara 4 framework, a common building automation software with over 750,000 installations. That means that integrators and programmers familiar with Tridium's Niagara Workbench software will have an easy time integrating our controller into their applications. • Unlike other controllers running the Niagara software, Phoenix Contact's controller was designed to be used in critical applications where loss of building control can cause serious problems. For example, use with chillers and boilers, cooling for data centers, clean rooms, and airports. The ILC 2050 BI has four configurable Ethernet ports with two NIC cards to incorporate network redundancy. It also has an integrated webserver access via mini USB that can be used for testing I/O points, network configurations, and to get a general overview of functions. You can add up to 63 I/O cards, bringing incredible flexibility and scalability to your application. • We offer digital inputs, digital outputs, analog inputs, analog outputs, thermistor inputs, relays, and other communication interfaces that provide connection to Modbus, BACnet, and other common building automation protocols. • To give you an idea of how dense the I/O is in the ILC 2050 BI, we can fit seven I/O cards in the same space as other standard Niagara controllers, which do not include any I/O in the same footprint. The ILC 2050 BI is also covered by our limited lifetime warranty, which warranties the controller for life when used with our power supply and surge protection equipment. • With Phoenix Contact hardware, you can now engage in both light industrial and heavy commercial applications with the robust hardware controller in Niagara. How's that for answering all of those questions you've been asking yourself? If you'd like to know more, leave a comment below.
