He locks his car with the remote and then we track • with him as he walks down the sidewalk. • He stops when he comes across a grouping of electric • scooters. • A SPOOKY MUSIC hit sounds as Mackey stares at the scooters. • He looks around, puts his hands on his hips then drops • them. • MR. MACKEY • ...What the fuck is going on...? • Mackey looks around some more and then goes into one of the • stores which is a candy shop. • INT. CANDY STORE - DAY • A little bell on the door RINGS as Mackey walks up to the • guy at the counter. • STORE OWNER • How can I help you? • MR. MACKEY • I'm just gettin' my Halloween candy. • Wanna make sure to get enough. Last • year I ran out and the kids egged my • house, mkay. • STORE OWNER • Yeah you don't wanna run out of • candy on Halloween. • MR. MACKEY • I'll take three large bags each of • snickers fun size, Payday bite size, • almond joy snack size and reese's • teenie weenie size, mkay. • The owner takes out a paper sack puts it on the counter and • starts putting the candy in. • STORE OWNER • Sounds like you wanna be prepared... • Mackey looks out the window. • MR. MACKEY • Can I ask you something? What's up • with all these -- damn scooters? • STORE OWNER • Oh I think you get an app on your • phone and you can use them all over • town. • MR. MACKEY • No but like where did they come • from? You know, it's like one day • everything was fine and the next • there were these fuckin' scooters • everywhere. • STORE OWNER • You don't like scooters? • MR. MACKEY • I just think people should DRIVE, • mkay? I don't think people should • SCOOT. I just- I just hope the • future isn't... SCOOTIN'. • STORE OWNER • Well they seem pretty convenient. • (handing over bag of • candy) • What can be so wrong about that? • Happy Halloween. • Mackey takes the bag in both hands and walks out the door. • EXT. CANDY SHOP - DAY • When he walks out the door another HUGE music hit as Mackey • sees there are triple the number of scooters that were just • there. • Mackey panics and walks quickly to his car.
