Video On How to Plant a Coconut Palm • • How to Grow Coconut Tree • In my last coconut video I discussed how to plant coconuts and I mentioned in that video that I would be doing another video on how to grow coconut palms indoors or how to grow coconut palms as houseplants. I decided this would be a better topic for discussion than instruction. How to grow coconut palms in the house is a topic with a lot of varying information and some of it works well for people, and so much for others. The large amount of inconsistency within the topic leads me to believe that we still have a long way to go with understanding some of what makes these plants tick. I said in the video that growing coconut palms indoors for me works best when I let them dry a good amount in between waterings, and that I don't try to keep them very warm. I do this because when kept warm, humid and consistently moist, they tend to rot indoors, even though these are the conditions they need outside. However, growing them like I do will only work for a few months out of the year, eventually the plant would likely die if not ever given it's preferred growing conditions. Maybe this tells us that they just are bad houseplants?
