Its velocity is much faster than the flow of blood itself. The highest pressure during pulsation is called systolic pressure(), the lowest is called diastolic pressure(), and the difference between the two is pulse pressure. Mean arterial pressure is the average pressure, throughout the entire cardiac cycle. Traveling pressure pulses cause distension of the vessel wall which can be felt from the skin. The wave travels faster in the stiff vessel. And it progressively dampens due to compliance and resistance. • Chapters: • 00:00 Intro • 00:23 Pressure Pulse vs Flow of Blood • 01:22 Transmission of Pressure Pulses • 02:13 Systolic Diastolic Blood Pressure • 02:32 Pulse Pressure • 03:11 Mean Arterial Pressure • 04:12 Pulsations of Arteries • 04:52 Velosity of the Pressure Pulse • 06:09 Damping of Pressure Pulse • 07:39 Summary • 08:26 Bonus Point • Dr Vipul Navadiya • Nonstop Neuron • Medical Animation • Medical Animation Videos • Physiology • DISCLAIMER: This video is for education purposes only.
