Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary merged with Lenoir-Rhyne University (LRU) in July 2012, becoming the cornerstone of LRU's School of Theology and taking on all the benefits of becoming part of a prestigious university. Since the merger many exciting new programs have been funded and created. These include the new Master of Religious Studies program at LRU's new Asheville, N.C., campus, the Center for Graduate Studies on our Columbia, S.C., campus, and a bold new initiative, the LTSS Academy of Faith and Leadership. This seminary is here not only to teach, form and nurture our graduate students to carry forth the truth of the Gospel by becoming leaders of the church, but also to help equip all Christians, lay and clergy alike, for their lifelong work as ministers of the Gospel.
