Zainab Merchant is a Muslim-American Harvard grad student from Florida who also runs a political commentary website. She has been singled out for excessive, humiliating searches and treatment by TSA and U.S. border officers every time she encounters them — most likely because she's on a secret blacklist. The government won't tell her why she's on the list or give her a chance to get off. Agents have repeatedly questioned her about her religion and her online opinion writing criticizing government policies, raising serious First Amendment concerns.
