Hello cyberji.. Welcome to click mind. Today, ubji will share to you about a rare disease that might intrigue you. It’s a disease that make the patient can’t feel pain. congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis (CIPA). CIPA or Hereditary Sensory and Autonomic Neuropathy Type IV (HSAN IV), is a rare autosomal recessive disorder of the nervous systems, which prevents the patient to feel pain and differentiate between temperatures, and also prevents them from sweating. It’s a very dangerous condition and majority of the patients die before the age of three. • These are the clinical findings on CIPA patient: • 1. For infants are biting lips, tongue, and fingers. And also recurrent fever that will lead to seizure. • 2. For older patient: repeated traumatic injuries like bruising, bone fractures, and deformed joint (charcot joint); history of accidentally got burned, impaired visceral pain: they won’t realized if their appendix is infected or burst or if they got ulcers on their stomach. • 3. Can’t differentiate between hot and cold substance. • 4. Most of them have Intellectual disability • We really hope there will be cure for CIPA patient soon so they can live normally, or maybe their unique gene might help researchers to find treatment for patient with chronic pain in the future. • #CIPA #congenital #rarediseases #raredisease #pain #painless #insensitive #disease #neurology #neuroscience #neurologicaldisorders #neurologicaldisorder #neurologicalproblem #neurologicalconditions #woundcare #childcare #disability #doctor #medicalstudent #medicalfacts #medical #health #geneticdisease #geneticdisorder #abnormal
