PLEASE SHARE: • According to legend in January 1820 a man calling himself Thomas J. Beale called at the boarding house of Robert Morriss in Lynchburg, VA. He was looking for a place to stay for the winter. In March he departed...only to return 22 months later and again take up lodgings for the winter. Before leaving the following spring he entrusted Robert Morriss with a locked metal box, asking him to keep it safe until he or an agent on his behalf called for it. • 2 months later a letter arrived St. Louis, it was from Beale. • Beale advised Morriss that the locked metal box contained valuable papers pertaining to work he and his men were engaged in. He was told that if no one called for box within ten years he was to open it himself. Morris, however, did not open the box until 1845...some 23 years later. Inside were letters and sheets of paper covered in numbers. The legible letters told Beale's alleged story...a tale of western exploration, great wealth, buried treasure and and long journeys. • In 1885 an account of the Thomas Beale Treasure was published and sold to the public. Ever since then treasure hunters and historians alike have questioned whether or not the Beale Treasure Legend is face or fiction. • Support MysteriousWV through PATREON: •   / mysteriouswv   • LOOK FOR US ON FACEBOOK: •   / mysteriouswv   • FOLLOW US ON TWITTER: @MysteriousWv   / mysteriouswv   • FOLLOW US ON INSTAGRAM:   / mysteriousw.  . • MUSIC: https://www.purple-planet.com • Not as it Seems Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b... • David Fesliyan https://www.fesliyanstudios.com/
