Fish Tales was an animated TV series commissioned by RTM in 2002. Produced by Malaysian studio Fat Lizard, 39 episodes were made. Originally called Biru Sebijik Laut, the name changed to Fish Tales from ep. 14 onwards. Creator Steve Bristow http://www.stevebristow.com, Executive Producers Steve Bristow and Low Huoi Seong. • The adventures of Billy the clownfish and his friends in a patch of coral somewhere in the South China Sea. Oh yeah - and Billy is blue. After I sketched out the character designs my artist came back with a colour model sheet - he'd painted Billy blue. Eh! Clownfish are orange I told him. Never mind - leave him blue . Being blue was a great character quirk that generated some story ideas. Pre-dates Nemo by the way - possibly the first animated clownfish lead?
