Compost Tumbler double barrel

I took 2 55-gallon drums. I cut 2 holes in the tops and bottoms. • I made a frame out of exterior treated 2x4s, and ran a 7' piece of PVC through the barrels, and hung them on the wooden frame. • I cut out a rectangle on each drum, and added hinges and dead bolts. • I drilled a good number of breathing holes to let in air. • I also mounted 3 angle brackets inside, to stir the compost as the tumbler turns. • I painted it all green, to blend in with the background. Black for the drums would be better for heat, if you don't mind the looks. • Update 2014: Cut air holes on the ends, not on the sides. You don't want it raining in. And screw on some handles on the ends, to make it easy to tumble. It gets heavy. You want it mostly full for best results. • Tumble 5 times around, once each day. • Read this manual for good practice: http://syracusecoe.org/coe/images/all...
