Although TEs are selfish genetic elements, many are important in genome function and evolution.[3] Transposons are also very useful to researchers as a means to alter DNA inside a living organism. • There are at least two classes of TEs: Class I TEs or retrotransposons generally function via reverse transcription, while Class II TEs or DNA transposons encode the protein transposase, which they require for insertion and excision, and some of these TEs also encode other proteins • Transposable elements represent one of several types of mobile genetic elements. TEs are assigned to one of two classes according to their mechanism of transposition, which can be described as either copy and paste (Class I TEs) or cut and paste (Class II TEs). • Watch my other videosπŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡ • Molecular Genetics - All lecture- • Click here-πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡    • Molecular Genetics- BSc/MSc   • Extra GyanπŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡ •    • Extra Gyaan   • Strategies for Enhancement in food production- • All videos-πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡ •    • Strategies for Enhancement in Food Pr...   • Microbes in Human welfare- • All videos--πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡ •    • Microbes in human welfare   • Biotechnology (complete unit)-πŸ‘‡ •    • Biotechnology   • Animal tissues- (All lectures)--πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡ •    • Animal tissues   • Human Health and Disease (All lectures)--πŸ‘‡ •    • Human Health and Disease   • Body Fluids and Circulation--πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡ •    • Circulatory System   • For any other information or queries, you can use comment box or you can mail me at- • [email protected]
