229g Pickles from #greathatfield arrived today. He was found in the daytime, he has fleas, he is hyperactive and aggressive. Hedgehogs are not aggressive towards humans unless they carry Flukeworm. Flukeworm is a very painful endoparasite that attacks the liver, causing delirium and biting. Fleas on hedgehogs are species specific so will not transfer to you or your pets but are found on poorly hedgehogs, as are ticks. • Pickles has received sub-cut fluids, antibiotics and wormers and is now happily tucking into his food. • His worming treatment will take three weeks.
