Deshabandu Tennakoon assumed duties as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) this morning at the police headquarters. • President Ranil Wickremesinghe appointed Tennakoon as the 36th Inspector General of Police of Sri Lanka on February 26. • Born in 1971, Tennakoon began his police career in 1998 as an apprentice Assistant Superintendent of Police.
