IGNITE THE SPARK BREAK THE HEAVENS! • • Five years have passed since the end of the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament and the defeat of Piccolo. Since then Goku and Chi-chi have wed and had a son named Gohan after Goku’s adopted grandfather. One day while visiting his old friends Goku encounters a humanoid alien named Raditz who claims to be Goku’s long-lost elder brother. Raditz makes a shocking revelation that he and Goku are both part of a near-extinct elite alien warrior race known as the Saiyans and was sent to Earth as a baby with a mission to conquer the planet, but suffered a critical injury to the head sometime after his arrival and lost all memory of his mission, as well as his bloodthirsty Saiyan nature becoming a happy, loving boy. When Goku vehemently refuses Raditz’s request to join him and the other two remaining Saiyans, Raditz takes Goku and Krillin down in one hit and kidnaps Gohan threatening to kill him if Goku doesn’t comply to Raditz’s demands. Afterwards being joined by his friends and his arch-enemy Piccolo, Goku faces Raditz once more but both he and Raditz dies during the battle, succumbing to the grave injury dealt to them both by Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon. • With his dying breath, Raditz reveals to Piccolo that the two other Saiyans known as Vegeta and Nappa will be arriving to earth within a year’s time and are said to both be far more powerful than him. Piccolo seeing how Gohan protected his father from Raditz using a short burst of incredible strength takes the boy to personally train him in order to get ready for the Saiyans. Meanwhile Goku trains in the afterlife with King Kai learning both the Kaioken and the Spirit Bomb in the process as he awaits his eventual resurrection from the Dragon Balls. Meanwhile on earth not just Piccolo and Gohan, but Goku’s other friends Krillin, Tien, Chiaotzu, and Yamcha receive training from Kami, the Guardian of the Earth as well as from his assistant Mr. Popo. • The Saiyans arrive several months later and even though they had trained as hard as they could it proved to be in vain as Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Tien, and even Piccolo were all killed in battle with the Saiyan warrior Nappa. However their deaths were all avenged as Goku made quick work of Nappa and finished him off with the Kaioken technique. Realizing that his subordinate was no longer of any used to him paralyzed from the neck down, Vegeta kills Nappa in cold blood. Wanting to personally take on Vegeta single-handedly in one-on-one combat, Goku tells Krillin and Gohan to go back together to Kame House. Both fight in an area with no animals or other humans nearby in an intense showdown, the Saiyan Elite versus a Lower-Class Warrior. • As the fight goes on Vegeta creates a false moon and transforms into a Great Ape and critically injures Goku. Worried about his father’s safety, Gohan decides to rejoin the fight with Krillin right behind him. After Yajirobe another of Goku’s old friends slices off Vegeta’s tail with his sword he goes back from a Great Ape to his humanoid form evening up the playing field. Passing on to Krillin the power of the Spirit Bomb he launches the attack, however Vegeta dodges the attack, but after Gohan deflects the bomb right back to Vegeta it finally lands. Being battered and broken does not keep Vegeta down as he still continues to fight through sheer will power alone. Later on, Gohan transforms into a Great Ape himself after looking at the false moon Vegeta had made earlier in the battle. Vegeta slices off Gohan’s tail but crushes him beneath his gargantuan body. No longer having the will to fight, Vegeta escapes on his Attack Pod but vows that after he is rejuvenated and back to full strength he would return to earth to finish what he started. The battle was finally over but at a heavy price. • After discovering that Piccolo and Kami’s homeworld Namek has their own set of Dragon Balls. Krillin, Gohan, and Bulma set off for the planet with renewed hope of bringing back all of their fallen friends to life. Unbeknownst to them a new evil also had plans of their own for the Dragon Balls on Planet Namek with Vegeta right behind their tail. • • I own nothing. Dragon Ball: SPARKING!
