A positive test is when the patient has to walk hands up the thighs to achieve erect position. • Diagnostic Accuracy: Unknown. • Importance of Test: With weakness of the hip and thigh muscles, one is not strong enough to stand upright without the assistance of the upper extremities. This may indicate a contribution from the lumbar spine due to the innervation of these muscles and decreased core motor control in patients with low back pain.
