COLORS IN DINÉ BIZAAD • Facebook: www.facebook.com/TeachMeNavajo/ • Here is a video of the colors in Navajo. • A few sentences with color words. • Shi'éé' łichxíí'. • Trans. My shirt is red. • Note: most Navajo words for color are considered verbs as well as adjectives. What does this mean? Well, take for example the word łichxíí'. It can mean red as in a description, and it can also mean it is red as a verb. • The same with the word łitsxo, orange. It can mean orange (color, not fruit!) And it is orange . Understand?) • Łitsxo, orange/it is orange • Ch'il łitsxoígíí éí łitsxo. • The orange (fruit this time) is orange. • Ch'il łitsxoígíí, orange fruit • Łitsxo, orange color. • Dootł'izh, blue/green • Bilagáana ła' dabináá' dadootł'izh. Yágo dootł'izh. • Some Anglo have blue eyes. Blue like the sky. • Note: dadootł'izh is the plural form of dootł'izh. • Well, I hope you found this helpful. • 😃LIKE • 😃COMMENT • 😃SHARE • Can you think of any other color words?
