Patrice Motsepe - Rejection • Skepticism is an attitude or doubt towards claims, beliefs, or assertions made by a person, group, or individual. • It is a system of thinking either towards a particular idea or a group of various ideas. • A skeptic is a person who requires evidence and reasoning before accepting something as true. • Societal skeptics also call themselves ‘realists’. Externally, they are commonly referred to as ‘pessimists’. • The opposite of a skeptic is a believer (or credulous) person. While a skeptic questions and doubts claims until sufficient evidence is presented, a believer is more likely to accept claims at face value or with minimal evidence. • Entrepreneurs are a unique group of believers. With zero evidence, they somehow believe that they will succeed. • As a minority, entrepreneurs are constantly met with questions, ridicule, and doubt. • Unfortunately, this is a prerequisite of entrepreneurship. • Do not expect to go against the norm and be met with praise and appreciation. • Why? • Because you doing so is direct opposition to someone else’s entire belief system. You are threatening someone else’s identity. • And that’s doesn’t mean you stop. It’s okay. • You are unconventional, and that’s what makes you special. • 📍 Content from Forbes (“Patrice Motsepe, President of African Football Federation, Shares Life Lessons”) on YouTube • #africaentrepreneurs #southafricanentrepreneur
