The area around the cities of Kelowna, Vernon and Kamloops is home to several ski resorts. • Climate in the Okanagan Valley • The Okanagan Valley in British Columbia has a semi-arid climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters: • Temperature • The average daily temperature in January is between 0 and -5°C (32 and 23°F), while in July it's 20 to 22°C (68 to 72°F). However, temperatures can drop to -32°C (-26°F) in the winter and soar to 40°C (104°F) in the summer. • Precipitation • The average annual precipitation is about 280 millimeters (11 inches), with about half falling as snow in the winter.
