This theme has been remixed many times: 2 remakes, a bonus PWT remix, and 2 versions of the stellar World Champion arrangement, played in-game only for real-world VGC contenders! There's even the Battle Legend theme from Gen 7, which references this theme as well as the Gen 2 Champion theme! • Lance/Red: Befitting the music for the final, greatest challenges in the series, this Champion theme incorporates the main Pokémon theme in its opening melody. Quite possibly the most iconic Champion theme to date. As mentioned above, it is also referenced in the Battle Legend theme in SM USUM. • Steven/Wallace: The Hoenn Champion theme gets the blood pumping for sure with its blitzing speed. It has some really unique compositional ideas like the switch to 3/4 near the end of the loop. • Cynthia: Though Lance/Red's theme is certainly up there in terms of popularity, this Champ's battle theme is a major contender as well. It's so iconic, Gen 5 gave it not one, but TWO individual remixes, each 1 pitch up from the previous version. • Alder Iris: Alder's theme possibly is the best Champion theme in terms of fitting the character; it's just so bouncy, fun, and a bit nostalgic! Iris's, however, goes guns blazing with bombastic impacts and incredibly fun melodies, making it another contender for best of the bunch! (Also apologies for the low quality art of Iris, it's the best official art I can find of her in that outfit) • Diantha: Much like XY's music overall, I believe Diantha's theme is quite underrated. It goes for a similar style to Iris's, though maybe not quite succeeding as well, but it's definitely still a fun listen! • Alola: This League has the unique feature of allowing the player to defend their title instead of challenging the same former Champion each time. As such, the battle theme is simply an extended arrangement of Sun/Moon's opening title music, incorporating the main Pokémon theme like Lance/Red's music. However in USUM, we get a surprise remix of Hau's theme in title defense battles against him, notably the first challenge. • Leon: The theme for this celebrity takes a unique approach in remixing the Hall of Fame theme found in every core series entry before into a whole battle theme. It also makes reference to Hop's theme, the Galar motif, and the final Eternatus battle theme, all backed by Galar's trademark crowd cheering. • Geeta Nemona: Paldea has a different method of labeling Champions, allowing multiple people in the region to rank as Champions at once. There is still the League Chairwoman and Top Champion, Geeta (as much of a pushover as she is 😂), whose theme is actually surprisingly catchy. As what's possibly Jun'ichi Masuda's last composition for the franchise, the music just had to make reference to the main theme like so many other Champion themes.
