Recently I shared an article translated by Andreas Quast from the book Okinawa Karate Kobudo Jiten (Okinawa Karate and Kobudo Encyclopedia), by Shigeru Takamiyagi, published 2008. The article states that Tatsuo Shimabuku studied with Miyagi Chojun for 3 years before he founded Goju-Ryu.
