Having just acquired a brand new (at the time) GoldStar VHS cassette recorder for the household, yours truly (who was 13 at the time) manage to record a whole day's worth of GMTV (that's 3 hours and 25 minutes), just to put the VCR's long play facility to it's paces. • For starters, we have the latest news specially produced for kids (and with no autocue by the looks of it.) Among the items reported were a story about Princess Diana continuing her tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina, not realising the tragic circumstance that will eventually cost her life three weeks later. BTW, I have to edit out the report about the premiere of Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie due to a possible copyright breach. • Anyway, after the news, for the pre-schooling early risers, there was Professor Bubble and Our House sandwiched in-between some big purple dinosaur. Making a sedge-way from the toddlers to the older kids are The Gummi Bears (of the Disney variety), followed by more Disney fun with the 90's kids TV legend that is Dave Benson Phillips in Disney's Wake Up In The Wild Room, which included Goofy in Goof Troop and Donald Duck in Quack Pack. • Finally, in typical 90's GMTV style, the morning ends with one of those Haim Saban produced action-adventure series, and in the summer of '97 it was the Big Bad Beetleborgs. • As I mentioned at the top of this description box, this is a very long clip, so I cannot be able to list all the commercials. However, I'm going to warn you that you will get tired of the Bull Boys trainers commercial, since it was repeated in almost every commercial break.
