How can we be better equipped and prepared for future pandemics? Spillover events are rare and there is little data so far. How zoonotic spillover arise and whether it is possible to predict them in time is the subject of the EU-financed PANDASIA project where a transdisciplinary team of scientists from Europe and Thailand is studying possible risk factors in Southeast Asia. The goal of the IZW team in the project is to detect new emerging viruses among wildlife and strengthen and develop interdisciplinary networks with ambitious project partners. • More information at https://pandasia-project.com/
