Composting stable manure and bedding can take a long time... unless you follow these two easy tricks. • Making fast compost requires a combination of things, proper nitrogen to carbon ratios, enough moisture, enough mass, etc.; however, in the case of a mix of manure and straw/fodder like this, good ratios are already present. All we really need is to stack it up and wet it, then keep it covered. That will make compost fast. If it's dry, it just sits because there aren't happy composting bacteria doing their thing.
