We've got 5 boxes and they're going to be spaced 5 inches apart. You've got 5 from here to here. Here's my template. So we're going to start from there and we're going to come 3 down from this moulding and 3 from the bottom. • So here's the piece of trim we are going to use to make our box. I got this at Lowe's. It's about 7 and a half bucks for 8 feet. And what we're going to do is measure out our sides and the top and bottom and cut it. • Now we're going to take the miter saw and we're going to cut our box sets. Now for the top and the bottom. Now we've measured for the sides and we're going to go ahead and cut them. • Alright now that we have all of our corners mitered we kinda lay it out. Looks pretty good. I'm going to nail these edges together with my Harbor Freight special 23 gage pin nailer. So we're going to use that. We're going to use some regular wood glue to hold them together. Put a little bit of glue on each end. Not too much. We're going to do this first. Line it up. Make sure it's where I want it. Take the pin nailer. Tack it in place. If you try to use an 18 gage or a 16 gage pin nailer you will definitely split this trim. So that's why I got this 23 gage nailer from Harbor Freight. It's worked out pretty good. • Ok the last stage is to put the boxes up on the wall. We are going to use some construction adhesive and some inch long pin nails. I've got my template. I've got 5 here, this is 3 . This is going to be the spacing from the bottom of this chair rail here. Applying construction adhesive. You don't want to use too much of this because you don't want to have it build up because you won't have the frame against the wall as tight as it should be. • My template at the top here. Just going to tack it on. Alright. And that's it. We just got two more then we'll be ready to caulk all the edges, smooth everything out and then we'll be ready to paint it.
