This is the first video in my Beginner series for learning how to fly without the use of Flight Assist. This is my regiment for teaching students in Newton's Gambit ( https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthr...) ). I tend to divide beginner FAOFF skills into 5 proficiency levels. The exercises shown here in this video comprise all of the exercises for Proficiency Level #1. • Update: Proficiency #2 has been released! • Elite: Dangerous - Flight Assist Off... • Update: Proficiency #3 has been released! • • Elite: Dangerous - Flight Assist Off... • This series is not the only material on YouTube for learning FAOFF. I highly recommend looking at everything you can, especially LookInverted (CMDR Lancer's) videos on FAOFF instruction found here ( • Elite: Dangerous - Learning [about] F... ). Also, don't forget to find inspiration in other Commander's skills. I can't tell you how many times I've watched YouTube videos of some of my favorite FAOFF Commanders over and over again. Inspiration is a powerful fuel. I'm looking at you Isinona! • I usually assume going into Proficiency #1 that a student can Quiet your Ship already when in FAOFF. Essentially this is the skill to stabilize your ship, when at full stop, after being placed in a chaotic roll. This is usually a quick skill to learn and many of the videos already posted to YouTube cover how to approach this. • A last note: As with anything that requires the development of skill, it is best to just do it. Most full-FAOFF Commanders, and those who aren't full-FAOFF but use it regularly, didn't have guided training exercises. Rather, they created their own exercises to develop their skills. They just stuck to it, and eventually became proficient. • X52 Pro • TrackIR
