Basket Case, by Green Day was released on August 1st 1994 as the second single from the bands 3rd studio album Dookie. This song was written about Billie Joe Armstrong’s struggles with anxiety, before he was diagnosed with panic disorder many years later. Billie Joe stated in his book “Welcome to my Panic” published in 2021, that he wrote the song whilst taking speed in Glasgow, Scotland.
