Vermejo Ranch, located west of Raton, New Mexico, is one of the largest contiguous ranches in the U.S., covering 550,000 acres, with 530,000 of them connected. Purchased by Ted Turner in 1996 from Pennzoil, he transformed it into a wildlife preserve, replacing cattle with bison and removing interior fencing. Vermejo operates as a guest ranch for hunting and fishing, featuring multiple lodges, including the 25,000-square-foot Casa Grande. Conservation efforts include a Rio Grande cutthroat trout restoration program along three miles of river and a reintroduction of black-footed ferrets in 2008. The ranch also contains significant coal bed methane deposits, with each acre deeded. • Looking to buy or sell go here ---- https://jamesbigleyranches.com/media/ • Contact me: [email protected] • Subscribe for content on ranching, land, and property related to real estate, history, hunting, wildlife, conservation, and ranching mainly in the United States. • Schedule a 15-minute no-obligation call with me: • https://calendly.com/jbigley/15min • James Bigley • 679621 • Texas law requires all real estate licensees to give the following information about brokerage services to prospective buyers, tenants, sellers, and landlords: • Texas Commission Information About Brokerage Services • https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bpgF... • Texas Commission Consumer Protection Notice • https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nH06...
