Little bird on my window an old Irish song

This old Irish song over many years has been sung in the U.S.A. by grandparents and in elementary schools there. You will see on my video I have added a little whistling interlude; a snatch of Wiegenlied by Johannes Brahms it just arose when practicing and felt as if it was always there. Interestingly I have seen the basic tune of this song described as a German folk tune. Recent research suggests this melody did indeed come from Germany ‘Kommt ein Vogel geflogen’ / ‘A Bird Comes A-flying’ as do many nursery rhymes and childrens’ songs sung in the English language. • Song sheet for Little Bird on my Window - Page 224 MacMillan Series - Grade 1 • Accompanied by Alan Rosevear's whistling. • My NEW website https://riverofsong.uk/ is up and running and ready to go.
