Alessandro Scarlatti (1660-1725) was one of the most important Italian composers of the vocal genre. However, he started composing instrumental music late in his career. The set of 6 concerti grossi were published posthumously in London in 1740. Consisting of 4 minor and 2 major concertos, the minor concertos are very austere and serious, while the major concertos are brighter and sunny and resemble the Corellian style more. • Concerto Grosso No.3 in F major • Allegro - Largo 0:45 - Allegro 1:54 - Largo 3:53 - Allegro 5:29 • Accademia Bizantina / Ottavio Dantone
