The BEST King Penguin underwater spectacle ever

For #Penguinday it seemed appropriate to share a video of what has to be the ultimate Penguin experience, the frenzies of King Penguins checking us out in our zodiacs at Macquarie Island. • This is penguins at their best in the environment in which they are best suited - underwater! • Macquarie is home to close to 500,000 King Penguins and the colony at Lusitania Bay is simply spectacular. We aren't able to land here but even from the sea the huge expanse of Penguins is a sight to behold. • Underwater though these birds are something else and to see thousands approach the ship and zodiac with naïve curiosity is quite extraordinary. Some birds actively try and get into the zodiacs and all swirl around and around. We sit with engines off and just watch them watching us. • I can safely say this is one of the most incredible wildlife experiences on the planet.
