Day 1 of the Ardeca Ypres Rally 2024 is done and dusted. • Stéphane Lefebvre with his BMA Hyundai i20N Rally 2 took the lead on stage 1 and led throughout the first and second loop. Jos Verstappen was very much on the pace but Max Verstappen's father was very unlucky and lost 50sec due to a puncture. • Maxime Potty quickly setled into the new Toyota GR Yaris Rally and was even winning stages by the end of loop 2. Only 7,7 sec behind leader Lefebvre. Cherain Cédric looked very quick out on the stages and end the day in third, 29,8 behind the leader. Freddy Loix and Vincent Verschueren complete the top 5. Kris Princen was the quickest non Rally2 car with his Porsche 991 GT3 in 13th. In 14th a very impressive drive by Pieter-Jan Maeyaert in his BMW E30 M3. First Historic rally car is Paul Lietaer in his Opel Ascona 400 currently 16th but more importantly quicker than most of the Porsche 911's.
