This lecture dedicated to a unique disease of Mango that is Mango Anthracnose. • This lecture based on following heads - • Disease Name – Anthracnose • Causal Organism – Colletotrichum gloeosporioides • Telomorph stage – Glomerella cingulata • History - Sattar and malik in 1939 observed anthracnose from several district of panjab. • Symptom - Oval shaped brown to black spots with yellow halo appears on young leaves. • Later these spots coalesce whole leaf get blighted. • Shot hole appears at leaf by rupturing. • Panicles, flowers and fruits also affected. • Brown to black spots noticed on twigs. • Small brown enlarge and become black spot near stem end can seen on fruits. • Infected fruit drop off prematurely, latent infected fruits rotten in storage. • Etiology - Anamorphic stage •  Fungal colonies - dirty white or dark brown to black. •  Hyphae – aerial septate and branched. •  Acervuli – hemispherical and conical shaped. •  Setae – dark brown to black, filiform, septate, swellen at base and tapper at apex. •  Conidiophores – simple, short, hyaline to brown and coenocytic. •  Conidia – hyaline but pinkish in mass, unicellular, oval round at end •  Appresoria – conidia germinate by germ tube and cause the infection • Telomorphic stage •  Perithecia – produced on stromatic cushion are subspherical with ostiolar hair. •  Asci – subclavate and fugacious . •  Ascospore – hyaline, single celled oval to oblong. • Twitter for Video -   / knowledgeofsci1   • Telegram for Power Point and Video - https://t.me/knowledgeofscience • Instagram -   / knowledgeofscience0909
