Matt breaks them down in this review. Try Our Video Converter FREE: http://bit.ly/2gYlQ5n • Sometimes you have a video and the file format isn’t compatible with certain devices or websites or you may just want to reduce the file size of your video. Now we do use our very own Filmora as it can convert videos to any format however we’ve done our research and found some other really good software so you can choose whatever works best for you. Alright, let’s get started! • FILMORA • Filmora is a paid alternative, but it is a video editing software so you get the added benefit of being able to make edits to your video before converting to it. It’s also easy to use and straight-forward compared to the other video converters I am going to talk about. If you are a beginner then you will find Filmora to be much easier when it comes to converting your video files. When you go to convert your video under the export tab you will see all the different types of options you have when converting your file. You simply select select the file format you want, for example mp4, then you can change the settings of the video if you want to reduce the size of your video. You can do that by either selecting smaller resolution or choosing a lower bitrate. When you select OK you will then get a preview of how small your video file will be before exporting it. • HANDBRAKE • The number one thing that people love about this software if that it’s free. Hard to beat that. It also does an awesome job at reducing the file size of a video while maintaining the image quality. Many people actually prefer to use Handbrake over Adobe’s Media Encoder because they say that Handbrake maintains the colour output better than Media Encoder. Another great thing with Handbrake is the presets. If you plan on converting a whole bunch of files then it’s nice to have a preset then you can select over and over and over without having to manually change the settings again and again. You can also do batch conversions which is a big time saver. It beats having to do one video file at a time. • Some of the downsides are that the interface can be a little scary at first if you don’t know much about video codecs, resolutions and formats. And if you do end up needing help well then you can’t count on tech support because there isn’t any. You will need to do some research on Youtube and google to figure out how to do something. Also if you need to get your file size under a certain amount. For example if you need to get your file size under 50mb then it becomes a game of trial and error. You have to export the file and check if it’s the right size. If it isn’t then you need to adjust your settings and try again until you get it right. • Step by step example of how to use it... • It’s hard to complain about a free software because you get what you get, but if you need to adjust the file size of your video then Handbrake is one of the best softwares out there to do that for you. • VLC PLAYER • Technically VLC player is moreso used to playback media files, but it can also be used to convert your video files. Again you can’t go wrong with the fact that VLC player is completely free. Over the years I have used this software and I have found that it handles every file format out there. I’ve never had trouble opening a file when using VLC. Even some of the weird file formats that hardly ever get used are opened by this software. One great thing is that you can create profiles which are similar to presets. So if you plan on using VLC player to do the same type of converting over and over then you can setup a profile that can be used without having to select the settings manually again and again. • So one of the downsides is that VLC has an interface that out of date and that a beginner might have trouble navigating. When you open up the software you won’t see any sort of convert or export buttons on the interface. You will have to go digging in the menus to find what you’re looking for. • Step by step example of how to use it… • If you can get over the hurdle of learning how to convert videos then VLC Player becomes an excellent choice for converting your videos. • So there you have it those are the three options that I recommend for converting your videos. Thanks so much for watching, don’t forget to comment, like and subscribe and I’ll see you next time.
