As the name suggests, the book of Genesis is a book of firsts. The first recorded words of the Creator God, for example, come as early as Genesis 1:3 where He commands light to come forth. This is very interesting, since God had not yet created the light-giving Sun and Moon. In fact, the “greater” and “lesser” lights would not be created for another three days.
