Nagano, now connected by a new Shinkansen line, is only a 90 minute trip from Tokyo Station. Although most people only know of Nagano as a former home to the winter Olympics, it is a great day trip from Tokyo, or over-night stay to visit the Nagano Snow Monkey Park. • While you are in Nagano, make sure to their some of their food specialties: Soba Noodles, Apples, and Miso Ice Cream.
