These molasses cookies are spicy and chewy, they store well and can be frozen. • 3/4 C soft butter • 1 C brown sugar • 1 egg • 1/4 C molasses • 1 tsp vanilla • 2 C flour • 1 tsp baking soda • 1/2 tsp salt • 1 tsp cinnamon • 1/2 tsp cloves • 1/2 tsp ginger • 1/2 C white sugar for rolling the dough • Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, molasses, vanilla, mix well. Add dry ingredients, mix well. Scoop dough balls into the white sugar and place on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 9-12 minutes.
