Train horns! is a video series that listens to different types of air horns used on North American locomotives at railroad crossings. • Part 8 concludes the series, featuring the Leslie RS5T dubbed The King of Train Horns although, many would probably argue that title belongs to the M5. I'll let you viewers decide: please comment your thoughts below! • If you like train horns, please check out my playlist here: •    • Awesome Train Horns   • More information about the Leslie RS5T can be found below the video timeline: • 0:00 - NS 6322 RS5T - 3/05/15 • 0:35 - NS 6920 RS5T - 5/24/15 Honoring our Veterans • 1:15 - NS 9564 RS5T - 6/30/15 • 2:00 - CSX 7703 RS5T - 10/05/15 • 3:00 - CSX 6977 S5T - 3/20/15 • 3:30 - NS 2642 RS5T - 4/20/16 • 4:35 - NS 6920 (again) - 6/14/16 • 5:20 - NS 2502 RS5T - 7/29/16 (fouled) • 6:20 - NS 6967 RS5T - 3/10/17 • 6:50 - NS 9921 RS5T - 6/17/17 • 7:17 - NS 6916 RS5T - 3/20/16 (fouled) • 8:00 - NS 6959 RS5T - 4/11/18 • 8:50 - NS 6943 RS5T - 4/14/18 (partially fouled) • 9:25 - NS 6967 (again) - 9/08/18 • 10:20 - NS 9172 RS5T - 3/03/19 • Once common on just about every carrier in the country, especially on eastern railroads, this horn has become scarce over the years, but still exists in some capacity on Norfolk Southern and some CSX yard locomotives. Norfolk Southern retired a lot of yard locomotives that had RS5T's, but many of those horns ended up on SD60E's that were rebuilt during the same time period, which we'll see in this video. A lot of horns ended up on short lines or in the hands of collectors. CSX, after all, literally threw out hundreds out these horns when fitting their fleet with Nathan K5LA's. • • Central Penn Rail Productions 2019 • Thanks for watching!
