ASCII Quake

This mod runs on the FTE engine and was made possible thanks to Erysdren's Top Down Quake : https://github.com/erysdren/TopDownQuake • • Another Quake mod that I haven't worked on for a while, so here's a video! It was made in a week right after the Text to Speech mod since I saw some comments from the Arial Bold mod mention it looked similar to the game Rogue and wanted to see an ASCII overhaul. (and also Comic Sans) I used this as an opportunity to test replacing MDLs with sprites for 2D doom style enemies. Replacing the animations with frames was successful, but I didn't want to spend too much time on this. (lots of other exciting concepts to test!) The mapping was successful and not too bad to put together, the ceiling room reveal culling was a little tricky but looks really cool.
