The Changeling - Thomas Middelton • Episode aired Jan 20, 1974 • CAST • Helen Mirren - Beatrice-Joanna • Brian Cox - Alsemero • Stanley Baker - De Flores • Alan Webb - Vermandero • Thomas Middleton (baptised 18 April 1580 – July 1627; also spelt Midleton) was an English Jacobean playwright and poet. He, with Shakespeare, John Fletcher and Ben Jonson, was among the most successful and prolific of playwrights at work in the Jacobean period, and among the few to gain equal success in comedy and tragedy. He was also a prolific writer of masques and pageants. • The Oxford Middleton and its companion piece, Thomas Middleton and Early Modern Textual Culture, offer extensive evidence both for Middleton's authorship of The Revenger's Tragedy, for his collaboration with Shakespeare on Timon of Athens, and for his adaptation and revision of Shakespeare's Macbeth and Measure for Measure. It has also been argued that Middleton collaborated with Shakespeare on All's Well That Ends Well. However, these latter collaborative attributions are not universally accepted by scholars. • Please consider subscribing to our channel for More Insights: https://www.youtube.com/user/Shakespe... • This recording is for educational purposes only and is covered under Fair Use doctrine - Copyright - All rights reserved to their respective owners. • _______________________________ • Read the unabridged plays online: https://shakespearenetwork.net/works/... • SHAKESPEARE SUPPORTER STORE - Shop for a cause fundraiser! • T-shirts, Mugs, Polos, Hoddies, Peluches - Your favourite Shakespeare quotes and much more. • We need your support to keep alive our educational program • UK STORE - £: https://shakespeare-network.myspreads... • USA STORE - $: https://shakespearenetwork.myspreadsh... • EUROPEAN STORES €: • Deutschland: https://shakespeare-network.myspreads... • France: https://shakespeare-network.myspreads... • _______________________________ • SHAKESPEARE NETWORK STORE - T-shirts, Mugs, Polos, Hoddies, Peluches - Your share your favourite Shakespeare quotes and much more - shop for a cause fundraiser - we need your support to keep alive our educational program, media publishing and in-house productions! • UK STORE - £: https://shakespeare-network.myspreads... • USA STORE - $: https://shakespearenetwork.myspreadsh... • EUROPEAN STORES €: • Deutschland: https://shakespeare-network.myspreads... • France: https://shakespeare-network.myspreads... • Donate with PayPal today • • Please consider giving a donation today to support our HD AUDIO / IMAGE Restoration Program. • The main objective of enhancing historical image and sound recordings by digital signal processing is to improve the overall quality of recordings degraded by several distortions.
