Join sea turtle biologist, Leah, to learn more about the different stages of the sea turtle life cycle. From their tough journey as hatchlings with a 1 in a 1000 chance of survival to returning as a female to lay the eggs, • Life Cycle (full circle): • 🐢 Nesting female lays 3-5 nests a season • 🐢 They eggs take 45-60 days to develop • 🐢 Hatchlings emerge together and set out to sea • 🐢 Find a safe, protective food-filled habitat for the first years of their life • 🐢 Lost years of the juvenile sea turtles • 🐢 Once adults, mate and if female, return to the same beach or a nearby beach to lay eggs • 📷 The photos of the mating loggerhead sea turtles in the video were taken by Brandi Driggers.
