In this Physics lecture in Hindi for B.Sc. and B.Tech. we explained the construction and working principle of MOSFET with diagram. These are of two kinds, viz., enhancement type MOSFET (E MOSFET) and depletion type MOSFET (D MOSFET). There are four terminals in a MOSFET, viz., (1) substrate or body, (2) source, (3) drain, and (4) gate. In most of the MOSFETs substrate and source terminals are connected, giving rise to only three terminals. For enhancement type MOSFET a channel for current conduction between drain and source is absent initially, but, can be formed by providing enough gate to source voltage. The mininum voltage for which the channel is formed is called the threshold voltage. When channel is formed, current can be produced by providing drain to source voltage. By increasing that voltage current can be increased, but there is a counter effect - depletion layer of p-n junction near the drain side increases and hence the channels becomes narrower. So it hinders the current to flow. For gthese two counter effective reasons the current ceases to increase after a certain drain to source voltage and this voltage is called the saturation voltage and the constant current is called the saturation current. This situation is called the pinch-off situation. • Link for the playlist on Field-Effect Transistors on EduPoint •    • 🔴 Field Effect Transistor - Introduct...
