We used the free launch next to Navigators Bar and Grill. From there we went approximately 8 miles before the river got to shallow to take our boats any further. The river is exceptionally low this time of year, plus we have gone a few months without any rain. We saw plenty of alligators on this trip, and you can even catch tarpon is far up the river. It was a great trip even though we didn't get to hunt for fossils.
