Darjeeling is known for its many lush tea gardens on the slopes of the mountains, scenic landscapes, beautiful views of Mount Kanchenjunga range its snow peaks, the famous heritage toy trains (Darjeeling Himalayan Railways) and so much more. • The nearest airport is at Bagdogra and the nearest railway junction is New Jalpaiguri (NJP). You can take a private taxi from the airport and get to Darjeeling in 3 hours. At NJP station, you can get private taxis, shared taxis and even the toy train for Darjeeling. Private taxis from NJP take about 3 hours to reach Darjeeling. Public buses are available from Siliguri (a city located only 10 minutes away from NJP).
