This “400A” is part of the Mazda part number “BPD418400A” not an indicator of its amperage. The underlying starter motor is a Mitsubishi M0T80081 starter and its only rated at 1.0kW not 4.8kW! To my knowledge starter motors never show an amperage rating, they’d always show a kilowatt rating. Only alternators would show an amperage.
