The operator was not wearing a protective helmet while sitting at the traffic light. I activated my emergency equipment to conduct a traffic stop on the dirt bike. The operator of the dirt bike observed my emergency lights and began to travel away from my patrol vehicle. The operator disobeyed the red traffic light to avoid being stopped. I then notified Troop D Communications Center that I was in a vehicle pursuit. • The violator continued to travel south on New Clinton Road. The violator began to do tricks while fleeing my patrol vehicle. Trooper Jhordann Barker 346 assisted in the pursuit by informing Troop D Communications Center of our direction of travel and a description of the violator. As we approached the Tri-Angle Food and Gas Station, the violator kicked his left foot out as if he was going to attempt a left turn. I became parallel with the dirt bike on its left side. The violator immediately applied his brakes, traveling behind my patrol vehicle. The violator then made a left turn into the Tri-Angle Food and Gas Station and traveled onto Millerfield Road. TPR Barker then became the primary unit in the pursuit. TPR Barker continued to pursue the violator traveling north on Millerfiled Road. The violator recklessly traveled onto the wrong side of the roadway into oncoming traffic while showing a complete disregard for the safety of the motoring public. TPR Barker attempted to channelize the violator before he made a left turn onto Willis Court. TPR Barker again attempted to channelize the violator before the violator applied his brakes and traveled behind TPR Barker’s patrol vehicle. The violator made a left turn onto Vacation Drive. I then became the primary unit again in the pursuit. The violator traveled on Vacation Drive before kicking his left foot out as if he was going to attempt to make a left turn. I channeled the violator to make a right turn onto Donald Avenue. Shortly after making a right turn, the violator lost control of the dirt bike and slid to the ground. I positioned my patrol vehicle in front of the violator and TPR Barker positioned behind him. The violator attempted to get back on the dirt bike to continue fleeing. TPR Barker exited his patrol vehicle and displayed his duty pistol while giving loud verbal commands. The violator ignored the commands and continued to try to get away. I exited my patrol vehicle and grabbed the violator. The violator continued to ignore all commands and resist arrest. I then struck the violator once on the right side of his face in his cheek to prevent the violator from fleeing. The violator then fell to the ground and he was placed under arrest with no further incident. I notified Troop D Communications Center that the violator was in custody. The violator was identified as Mr. Zacharie Trayvon Pryor-Hicks by his name and date of birth. I checked the status of Mr. Pryor-Hicks’ driving privileges and discovered that he had a valid driver's license. I checked the status of the dirt bike and discovered that it was not insured or registered. I notified Troop D Communications Center for a wrecker. Kitchens Wrecker Service responded, and I released the dirt bike to the wrecker driver. I transported Mr. Pryor-Hicks to the Piedmont North Hospital to clear him from any injuries sustained. Once Mr. Pryor-Hicks was cleared by medical staff, I transported him to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. I then released him to jail personnel.
