Only about 10% of the seafloor has been explored, but even still, our limited research has shown us one thing for sure: there are some bone-chillingly creepy things in the oceans. From natural (but terrifying) formations and trenches to shipwrecks and weird creatures, there's some stuff lurking down there that should probably just be left alone. The creepiest places under the sea are hands-down more unsettling than any creepy place on land because we simply don't know nearly as much about the ocean as we do about the surface. The deepest part of the ocean, the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench, is seven miles below the surface - a mile and a half deeper than Mount Everest is tall. Who knows what you might find down there? Seriously, there could be real-life sea monsters. Diving into these weird under the sea places would feel like entering a sci-fi world or even a horror movie. These places are where people come face to face with terror, perils, and even death. Even a glimpse of some of these creepy places in the ocean is enough to induce a sense of dread. Let’s dive in anyway, shall we? The Mariana Trench is the Deepest and Scariest Point on Earth. Only three people have been to the bottom of Mariana Trench’s deepest point, the Challenger Deep, which is 11 kilometers deep. It's pitch black down there, the water pressure is enough to kill you, and oh yeah, there are hydrothermal vents that blow out water hot enough to melt the flesh from your body, so it's kind of hard to blame explorers for being trepidatious. Victor Vescovo's trip to the Challenger Deep, at the southern end of the Pacific Ocean's Mariana Trench, was said to be the deepest manned sea dive ever recorded, at 10,927 meters (35,853 feet). This is the deepest point ever reached by man. To go deeper, you'll have to travel to the bottom of the Challenger Deep, a section of the Mariana Trench under the Pacific Ocean 200 miles southwest of Guam. This happened to Jacob Cockle, a man which is known on youtube as whirlpoolhitman. This ocean whirlpool took his life. A vortex is a mass of whirling fluid or air that circles around quickly. This guy was drowned by this ocean whirlpool when he was 28 years old. Any whirlpool is dangerous. For example, the Corryvreckan Maelstrom Is a Permanent, Violent Whirlpool. While most whirlpools are harmless or temporary, the Corryvreckan Maelstrom in Scotland is in a league of its own. Not only is it a permanent vortex, it’s also remarkably powerful, mighty enough to be dubbed the third strongest in the world. The hazard presented by this phenomenon depends on mother nature’s mood. With a strong wind and current, the maelstrom can produce standing waves of 15 feet high. You don’t want to be around when it happens. Some other scary places in the ocean are the Ghostly Wreck of the Titanic, Bermuda Triangle and Devil's Sea. BBC News said that the man, named locally as Jacob Cockle from Penzance, was spotted floating face down at Carnsew Pool in the Hayle Estuary, at about 21:00 BST on Tuesday. He was airlifted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro where he was pronounced dead, police said. ‪@Afreshsociety‬ | biggest whirlpool recorded | Crazy YouTuber Who Died While Filming a Video For YouTube | Jacob Cockle lived in the sea.
